COVERAGE UNDER THE SECURI-CLEAR WARRANTY

Windshield Replacement: The Securi-Clear Warranty covers all repairs to your new Securi-Clear windshield in accordance with the criteria and exclusions set forth below for as long as you remain the owner of the vehicle. However, if the Warranty has been issued through your insurer, the Warranty will terminate if you change your insurance company.

Windshield Repair: The Securi-Clear Warranty covers all earlier repairs of a windshield done by using the Securi-Clear Process, in accordance with the criteria and exclusions set forth below, for as long as you remain the owner of the vehicle. However, if the Warranty has been issued through your insurer, the Warranty will terminate if you change your insurance company.

ISSUANCE OF THE SECURI-CLEAR WARRANTY

The Securi-Clair Warranty is free of charge when repairing or replacing a windshield claimed with your insurer. If the replacement of the windshield is covered under insurance, the insured must pay the deductible when applicable. For a retail client, Securi-Clear may also be purchased as a value-added warranty upon the repair or replacement of a windshield, under the circumstance that the work was not claimed under an insurance policy.

THE SECURI-CLEAR WARRANTY

The Securi-Clear Warranty applies only to windshields identified with the Securi-Clear etched logo. No other window of the vehicle is covered by this warranty.

The Warranty will apply only if the windshield of the vehicle is identified with the Securi-Clear logo.

The Warranty applies to all repairs and replacement of the Securi-Clear windshield, in accordance with the criteria and exclusions listed below.

The Warranty will be valid in the store where the Securi-Clear windshield was installed or in any of the other corresponding locations of the same franchise network.

The Warranty will be honoured upon presentation of the purchase invoice marked with “Securi-Clear Warranty.” In the event of an unsuccessful repair attempt, the Securi-Clear Warranty ensures the reimbursement of the amount paid by the client or the insurer for the repair on the condition that a new windshield is installed on the vehicle.

REPAIR CRITERIA

Damage must be on the outer layer of the windshield (the window being made up of two layers of glass separated by a layer of plastic). As well, repair of damage to the Securi-Clear windshield must be determined in accordance with the standards and practices of the automobile industry, ensuring passenger safety above all else.

The circumference of a crack or chip must not be greater than the maximum dimensions allowed by the applicable laws and regulations and must not be within the field of vision of the driver.

A crack or chip found on the ceramic band (the black-grey border surrounding the windshield panel) cannot be repaired. The point of impact must be at least 3 cm from the visible edge of the panel.

EXCLUSIONS UNDER THE SECURI-CLEAR WARRANTY

The Securi-Clear Warranty does not cover the repair or replacement of a damaged Securi-Clear windshield in the following situations:

When performing a repair covered under the Securi-Clear Warranty, if the crack or chip spreads to such an extent that the repair can no longer be performed, the Warranty will not apply, even if the repair criteria mentioned above had initially been respected. In this event, it would become necessary to replace the windshield and a new Securi-Clear Warranty would need to be issued at the expense of the customer. However, if the new windshield is claimed under an insurance policy, the Warranty will be issued at no additional cost to the customer.

The Securi-Clear Warranty is limited to damages caused to the outer layer of the windshield. The Warranty will not be applicable if the damages reach the inner layer of the windshield.

The Securi-Clear Warranty does not cover heated windshields.

The Securi-Clear Warranty does not cover windshields with damage resulting from the normal wear and tear of the vehicle. Furthermore, it does not cover windshields with damage resulting from abuse of the vehicle.

With respect to long-term leases, The Corporation shall not be liable for the cost of windshield replacement or any other costs related to windshield replacement in the event such replacement is required by the lessor upon return of the vehicle.
